What Wheel Size for 315 Tires?

@Voss
Great shot!

Appreciate it!

@Felix
Loving it! These setups just look so aggressive.

My sister’s 2023 Mach 1 and my 2024 Dark Horse both have 305s in the front and 315s in the rear with handling packages. The Mach 1 rims cost around $1,700 but look amazing.

Not gonna lie… the Dark Horse looks kinda rough next to the beautiful Mach 1.

I think they’re both sexy but the mach 1 has the best front end of anything short of a Shelby

You’ll want at least 11.5” wheels for those.

11 is wide enough for 315s.

11 works, but 11.5 gives more flexibility if you ever want to go wider.

What’s your plan for the front tires?

Here’s a great guide on wheels and tire sizes for Mustangs: Mustang S197 and S550 Wheels + Why "Big Tires Matter" - Vorshlag Motorsports Forum

I’m running 315/30 square on 20x10s on my lowered 2020 PP1 with no rub at all. Using Downforce DF8 rims and Atturo AZ850 tires.

How are those Atturo AZ850s? Do they compare with Michelin or Conti ultra-high performance tires? I was thinking of getting them for burnout and content filming.

@Zahari
Really like them so far! Michelins are slightly better in the rain, but for the price (and the extra width), Atturos have been great.

11 inches wide should work. I have 305s on 10.5-inch wheels, and they’re just about at the max sidewall bulge.

Edit: Meant bulge, not stretch! Got corrected after work, haha.

Stretch? With a 305 on 10.5” there should be a bit of bulge.

Edit: Mistyped too—meant bulge with a 305/10.5 setup.

Here’s a pic for reference!

That’s exactly it! Michelin 305s on 10.5” wheels have a slight bulge, which I actually like. My 305s on 11” wheels are more flush. No harm either way, just depends on preference.

@Charles
Michelins always seem to look a bit bulkier on wheels compared to other brands.

@Charles
True, I’m using 10.5” wheels. Told him 11s would avoid stretch, but I see what you’re saying.

I think we’re saying the same thing. A 305 doesn’t really stretch on a 10.5”, but more room never hurts.
