Ford’s website mentions that the high voltage box recall applies to “SOME 2021–2022 Mustang Mach-E extended-range and GT models built between May 27, 2020, and May 24, 2022.” I’m looking at a 2022 GT built on May 15, 2022, which isn’t included in the recall. Does anyone know why only certain vehicles within those build dates are affected?
Where did you check to see if it was included in the recall? If the recall was completed, it won’t show up on the NHTSA or Ford VIN lookup tool but should appear in the warranty history.

Also, since it’s near the end of the recall range, it might have been manufactured with the updated parts, as sometimes these get phased in by model.

That’s the strange part. I checked both the NHTSA and Ford tools, and it didn’t show up, but when I asked the dealer, they mentioned no recall work was needed. However, there was a note in the warranty history for a Contactor repair done when they got the car.
Edit: Just got the documentation—it turns out the repair they performed was indeed related to the HVBJB recall.
The original HVBJB (high voltage battery junction box) was both under-designed and had some manufacturing issues. If there’s no recall listed for the HVBJB on the NHTSA website, then it’s either already been replaced with the updated HVBJB or it wasn’t part of the recall.
If you’re buying from a dealer, ask if the car was built before May 24, 2022. If so, it should be covered.
