I’ve been looking at the 2024 Mach E Premium RWD and the Ioniq 5. I live in AZ, so snow isn’t a concern. I’m leaning towards the Mach E, but does anyone have experience with the latest models? I’d appreciate some insights.
Which Ioniq trim are you considering? The Ioniq 5 has faster charging, a heat pump, ventilated seats, and a smoother ride. On the other hand, the Mach E handles better and feels sportier. Both are great choices depending on what you prioritize.
@Luther
I’m comparing the Mach E Premium and Ioniq SEL. Both were great rides, but I’m leaning more toward the Mach E.
@Luther
Just FYI, the 2025 Mach E will have ventilated seats and a heat pump.

Thanks for clarifying. It sounds like OP is looking at the 2024 models, though.
@Luther
The big downside for me with the Mach E is that it can’t be used as a home backup battery like the Ioniq 5.
I chose the Mach E for its semi-autonomous driving features like BlueCruise. It makes freeway commutes hands-free and stress-free. If you deal with heavy traffic, it’s a game-changer.

That’s really helpful! I commute on the I-10, and traffic can get crazy. I’m test-driving the Mach E today.
@Amir
Make sure you try BlueCruise on the freeway. Keep in mind, it’s a subscription service, but some cars come with a free trial period. Let us know how the test drive goes!

I test-drove the Premium today, both AWD and RWD. I loved the RWD—it felt swift and responsive! The interior quality is better than the Ioniq, though the cabin isn’t as spacious. I think the Mach E is the one for me.
@Amir
That’s awesome! Sounds like you found the right fit. Welcome to the Mach E crew!
I recently went through the same comparison and chose the 2024 Mach E Premium AWD Extended Range. The Ioniq had smoother suspension, but the Mach E felt sportier and had better interior ergonomics. Plus, the sound system in the Mach E is fantastic.
I test-drove both and went with the Mach E Premium RWD. It felt more substantial and well-built compared to the Ioniq. While the Ioniq has faster charging, I don’t road trip often, so it wasn’t a deal-breaker for me.
I chose the Mach E over the Ioniq because the Ioniq’s interior felt bland to me. My wife preferred the Ioniq’s ride quality, but she supported my decision, and our family loves the Mach E.

That’s good to hear! I test-drove the Ioniq last week and am excited to try the Mach E today.
The 2025 Ioniq 5 will have NACS compatibility and a better range of 290 miles with 19-inch wheels. Its DC charging curve is also better than the Mach E.
We considered the Ioniq, but since there isn’t a Hyundai dealership nearby, we went with the Mach E. No regrets—it’s fun to drive and looks great.
I test-drove both and chose the Mach E. The Ioniq’s suspension felt off, and its UI was overly complicated. The Mach E felt more driver-focused and polished.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s helpful to know.
I went with the Mach E because of its practicality and design. The Ioniq has faster charging, but the Mach E’s insurance costs were $700 less annually for me.
