Got my 2024 Mustang EcoBoost Premium in mid-November, and I’ve been dealing with some annoying problems:
Apple CarPlay acts up a lot. Sometimes my phone connects, but it won’t switch to CarPlay. Other times it connects but there’s no sound for a while. Then randomly, it works after 10-15 minutes.
Driver’s seat cooling is so loud it sounds like a drill. If I lean back, it gets worse.
Today, my dash lit up with “Service Advancetrac” and then said pre-collision assist wasn’t available. After that, the screen went black, came back, and said “VEHICLE UNBLOCKED.” Then everything went back to normal.
Tire pressure monitoring system keeps failing. One day it shows nothing for some tires, and then the next day it’s fine. A few days later, it acts up again.
I figured there’d be some quirks since it’s a new model, but this feels like a lot. Anyone else having problems like these? Maybe it’s all software stuff that updates can fix, but I’m curious to hear from others.
I bought a first-year model back in 2010. Never again. If you get one of these early, you’re basically a test subject. Hope you get these issues sorted quickly with your warranty.
CarPlay: Probably needs a module replacement under warranty. It’s been a known issue for a while.
Cooled seats: Yep, they’re loud. That’s unfortunately normal for these cars.
Dashboard lights: Usually happens when sensors are blocked by dirt, water, or frost. Once cleared, it should go back to normal.
TPMS: Sounds like bad sensors or weak batteries. Warranty should cover it.
Honestly, this is typical for a first-year model. Most of these issues are tech-related, not mechanical, so they can probably be fixed. Just hang in there—it’s all warranty stuff.
Had my 2024 EcoBoost for two months, and it’s already had major problems. One day, it wouldn’t start at all and showed a bunch of error messages like service Advancetrac, pre-collision assist, etc. Got it towed, and the dealer said it needed a software update. If Ford knows about this, why aren’t they telling us?

Same car here. My screen randomly goes black, and I’ve had the auto hold system fault pop up. After driving for a while, it fixes itself. Only 800 miles on mine.
My reverse camera freezes sometimes. Once, it froze on a person walking by, which was terrifying.
The right screen keeps restarting for 10 minutes before it stabilizes. During that time, I can’t control anything—no air, no GPS, no reverse camera.
Wireless CarPlay barely works, and even wired CarPlay is hit-or-miss.
The dealer reset my system twice but refused to replace anything. Took videos to prove the problems, but they still didn’t fix it. After a month of arguing, they finally agreed to replace the APIM, but only after I escalated to the general manager. It’s a mess.
@Teal
Same here with CarPlay—half the time it doesn’t connect or has no sound. Ford also took forever to fix my air conditioning, and the noisy seat fans? They just said it’s normal.
2024 Manual GT here. From day one, I’ve had lane assist and parking brake problems. One time, the car even rolled its own windows down while I was at work. Dealership says they need to look at it again. It’s frustrating to have so many issues with a brand-new car.
2024 GT owner. After a month of no issues, my car wouldn’t start outside a store. It worked fine after 30 minutes, but it was weird. Now, 10 months later, the stereo sounds awful—scratchy midrange and occasional ticking from the engine. Not what I expected from a new car.
