I’m considering a 2016 Mustang EcoBoost Premium. The specs look great, and the price fits my budget. However, I’m not familiar with Ford vehicles and I’m curious about their reliability. The car has 157,000 miles but has a clean title and good maintenance history. Is this a risky purchase, or is it likely to be a reliable buy?
That’s a lot of miles compared to my '17 model (I had about half of that). That being said, most of my issues were caused by things the previous owner did. I only had engine issues with some P0300 codes, but swapping out the spark plugs was an easy fix.
157,000 miles is a lot. I would probably pass on this one and look for something with fewer miles.

Are there any major failures I should worry about, or is it mostly small repairs? If you don’t mind me asking?
That’s pretty high mileage. What’s the asking price, if you don’t mind me asking?
If you’re getting the Mustang for under $10k, then 157,000 miles might not be the worst part. Just make sure to check for any mechanical issues. It’s a good idea to go through the service records to see if things like the head gaskets were replaced or if the engine has been swapped.
