Hopefully it’s just the water pump. I had to show ya’lltow truck back window sticker He has a 14 GT …., hopefully he’ll get her to the shop safely
Why are you not using a flatbed?
Sweet Lord, I would have to ride in the truck with him. Most of those guys don’t care about damaging cars.

Most tow companies won’t let you ride in the truck because of liabilities.
@Bryan
I’ve ridden in the truck every single time I’ve needed a tow.
@Bryan
You’re right, but the problem is the towing company drops off your car at the shop. You don’t see it for a while, then you pick it up and notice damage. If neither the tow company nor the shop took photos, you might be stuck fighting about it with your insurance involved.
@Bryan
Most tow companies let you ride in the truck, but they won’t let you ride in the car being towed.

That’s not what I was talking about. Two different companies told me I couldn’t ride with the driver.
@Bryan
I’ve ridden in the truck when my work truck broke down. Do they expect you to just take an Uber or leave you there when it’s freezing outside?
@Bryan
Comically out of touch take.
Did they repo your car? If you called for towing, I wouldn’t accept anything but a flatbed.

I was following him with my son-in-law. He’s a family friend and also a Mustang owner. It was in the hood… And no, it’s been paid off. Just had a water pump failure.
What happened? Was the temperature gauge starting to creep up?
I was driving home from New York during the holidays when the engine light came on for overheating. Luckily, I was close enough to home to park it and let it cool. The shop said it was a bad thermostat and water pump. Apparently, these are common issues with Mustangs. Should have it back by Friday.
@Howard
Mine didn’t overheat. I think I caught it just in time. It happened while I was at a red light, and I started seeing steam.
What happened? I know you said water pump. I drive the same thing so I’m curious what to look out for.
@Anson
At the red light, I saw what looked like smoke coming from behind me. But it was steam. It wasn’t running hot, no alerts on the dashboard. Popped the hood and saw water everywhere, the antifreeze reservoir was empty. I caught it just in time.
@Ravi
Damn, good luck with the fix! Hope it’s a quick one
