Thoughts on this one?

Hard no from me, big dawg. Personally, I hate verts. Especially on a Mustang. Even more so an Eco. I also feel the price is a little high. Scratch off a grand or two, and I’d feel better about it. You can get a 2018+ same miles cheaper. That is not knowing all the other stuff other than miles. Its only saving grace is that it has a premium package. I like Ecos, though don’t let the bias hate in here turn you away from them. It is or is one of the best economy sports cars, man. I’d also recommend getting a 2019 or newer model to avoid potential issues with the older models.

Not trying to be rude, but are you a little older? I’m old to most of the internet (30) and have only ever heard the term ‘vert’ for abbreviating convertible. Surprised to see this was an unknown term.

@Andrew
I’m 41 and never heard that used. Seems like a silly word to shorten, like are you in such a hurry you need to take a shortcut :joy:.

If you prioritize performance, a convertible wouldn’t be ideal since it’s heavier on the car compared to a hardtop which holds less weight. Also, from how nice hardtops look on a Mustang, soft tops tend to make the car look cheaper in many opinions. The black soft top isn’t all bad, but the brown one isn’t a favorite. It can cause a lot of problems later on, like the possibility you’ll have to get it replaced or fixed, which can be annoying. With a hardtop, you won’t have that issue.

@Adam
I think the only good convertible Mustangs are the Foxbody and mid-00s Mustangs. The top color needs to have a good match to the body. A lot of bad color combos imo.

But yeah, I didn’t buy one for performance; it’s because I wanted a convertible that looked cool, and as a bonus, have a V8 engine and sound.

@Harlow
Don’t forget T-tops, as Foxes were the only Mustangs to have them.

Convertible, EcoBoost. It’s a no from me.

Everyone in the comments hating on EcoBoosts and convertibles, and I just got an orange 2016 EcoBoost premium convertible a month ago :sob::cry:.

Granted, I would’ve preferred a solid top myself, but I really liked the specific one I got. It was less than 17k, though; I wouldn’t have paid more.

One day I’ll get a GT, but my EcoBoost is fine for now.

@Brayden
If you’re not getting something for performance, the convertible makes perfect sense to me. I think the prices are just crazy for a nearly 10-year-old Ford that we all know isn’t going to be 100% problem-free over the next few years.

@Brayden
One thing that sucks to me is you can’t get a V8 and convertible no more.

No. Don’t go EcoBoost.

Yes, but I wouldn’t pay more than 17k.
