Should I lower my car or leave it alone… Need advice

Never bought lowering springs before and I’m not sure which ones will give my car an aggressive look without scraping every little bump. This is my daily driver.
2019 GT, no performance package if that matters. It’s sitting on 20” rims.
Also, if you’ve done this, let me know what you paid for installation. Any help is appreciated!

I was in the same boat…I drive about 50 miles a day and couldn’t stand the wheel gap. No issues at all driving around the city where there are potholes. Just watch out for them and always back in to parking spots. You’ll love the lowered look and feel.

Steeda Progressive Springs, Steeda Pro Action Shocks and Struts, 275/35/20s all around with no rubbing or issues. Be sure to have them professionally installed as I made a mistake before and had all sorts of creaking noises.

How do you plan on getting over speed bumps?

If you hit them fast enough, they turn into ramps :joy:.

Saved this. Thanks for the solid reply!

No problem. Your Mustang looks awesome… keep us updated when you’re done.

@Elias
What did it all cost you? Like $1200 to $1500 or more?

Look into Viking Performance. I put in coilovers so I can tweak the height whenever I feel like it.

Some people hate it, but it depends. I added Steeda shocks, struts, and springs that dropped it about an inch. I’d never go back to stock. It handles so much better now. Ride comfort does take a hit on bad roads, though. Still worth it for how it feels and looks.

Coilovers are the way to go if you have the budget. I went with Pedders and love them. You can adjust the height and spring rates anytime you want—unlike lowering springs that stay fixed.

I don’t have advice, but man, that’s one of the best-looking GTs I’ve seen.

Appreciate it! I’ve spent a lot on it lately. Gold’s a tough color to pull off, but I’m trying. Some people love it, some hate it lol.

I’ve done it before, and honestly… don’t. If you’re serious about adjustability, just get air suspension.

Is air suspension safe? And how does it work—can I adjust it anytime I want?

@Clark
Yes, it’s safe if done right. You can control the height through a remote or an app on your phone.

That sounds awesome. Can I get these on American Muscle or do I need to search somewhere else?

@Clark
You’ll probably need to Google ‘air ride for [your car’s year/model]’ to find dealers near you. It’s not cheap, but it can actually add value to the car later if you ever sell it.

You’re going to regret it. Don’t do it.

Why lower it if it’s your daily driver? Not trying to call you out—I’m just curious. It looks great already, and won’t you worry about potholes and stuff?

I do worry about potholes, but the car looks like it’s sitting way too high. I’ve been posting pics and videos on Instagram, and I wanted a more aggressive look for the photos.

@Clark
Honestly, it already looks sick! I wouldn’t mess with it. You’ll just end up regretting it.

Most people here are saying the same. Maybe I’ll save myself from smashing a bumper on some random pothole :confused:.
