I’ve tried digging through the settings and can’t figure out how to get rid of this lane thing. It only changes or disappears when I switch driving modes. Anyone know how to fully remove it?
Check your electronic owner’s manual for lane assist. It should be in there somewhere.

I think there’s a button for it. When I borrowed a Bronco Sport, I noticed it near the touchscreen. Lane keep is super annoying, though.
@Quirin
My mom’s ‘22 Explorer has lane keep, and it’s awful. It ping-pongs you between the lane lines, making it hard to stay centered. I rented a Hyundai Elantra once, and its lane assist worked way better and wasn’t intrusive.
@Kelly
Same thing happened with the Bronco Sport. The dealer didn’t mention it, and it freaked me out the first time it activated. Glad my F-150 doesn’t have that nonsense.
On my S550, there’s a button on the end of the turn signal stalk to turn it on or off.

That’s how it works on the S550 401a package too. What’s your year and model, OP?

It’s a 2018 PP1 5.0.
@Adonis
Alright, the button should still be on the end of the turn signal stalk.

Hey, I pressed that button.
All it did was display the lines solid — see picture
Nothing changed, or made it go away.
@Adonis
The solid bars mean the system is on. They change color at around 40mph when active. If you don’t see the bars, the system’s off. You might not be able to remove it completely unless you use a different dash mode like drag or track.
@Dakota
Yeah, it disappears in drag or track mode. And I can switch the digital dash too.
@Adonis
There might be another setting hiding somewhere in the menus.
I’ve got it too, and I hate it.

Yeah, it’s really frustrating haha.
What year and model are you driving?

It’s a 2018 5.0 PP1.
That’s part of the pre-collision assist system. It’s in the driver assist menu. ACC and lane keep use the same display area.

What’s the exact name of the setting? I can’t find it.
@Adonis
Man, I’ve gotten you most of the way there! Just start toggling things off and see what works.
