Did you buy a Mustang just for performance? If so, going Ecoboost was just part of the way there.
An intercooler, tune, and E30 mix can get you close to 400 hp on the stock block. Don’t let GT-only folks discourage you; Ecoboost can still be fun.
Until you can tune it, you’re better off going with the 5.0.
Nothing wrong with liking the Ecoboost!

From a track perspective, a modified Ecoboost is nimble and balanced. But yeah, I’m sticking with my V8.
Classic story with turbo engines. If you want speed, your best option is a tune… or consider a GT.
Get an SCT tuner and a custom tune from a good shop like 5 Star, MPT, or Gearhead. Night and day difference in power, acceleration, and shifting!
Honestly, if you’re looking for speed, just enjoy the Ecoboost for its fuel economy and save up for a V8 if you want a real performance jump. As someone who’s owned both, I’d say keep your daily driver stock if it’s still under warranty and enjoy the ride.
Agreed with the others. Ecoboost just isn’t meant to be a high-power build. For that kind of money, an older 5.0 would’ve been better. 2024 Ecoboost doesn’t add much that you couldn’t get from a 2018 5.0.
@Sloane
Look, I got my Ecoboost because I couldn’t justify the cost of a GT. Priorities and budget, you know?
Who pays that much for an Ecoboost? You could’ve gotten a V8 for the same price or even less. Upgrading an Ecoboost for performance doesn’t seem worth it.
Check out American Muscle’s videos on Ecoboost mods. Might also browse around for other people’s setups on this forum.
