How did you guys get into Mustang’s?

I’ll go first.

This is the Mustang from the Knight Rider TV show. I used to watch it every week with my grandpa and ever since I saw that series I was hooked. Always wanted a Mustang just like that show. I have a mini 2008 gt500 model car that my grandpa gave me. Just wish my grandpa could see my car now.

I’ve always liked Mustangs, They’ve always been cool cars to me, but I never had an urge to buy one. It wasn’t until I saw the s550 at the end of the Need For Speed movie in 2014 that I knew I needed to get one.

@Damon
Crazy how one clip from a movie can make you want something.

It was basically the first time I saw an s550 ever lol, and I fell in love.

I don’t own a mustang anymore right now, but I always tell myself I’ll be back. Insuring one is almost double more than my car right now lol.

@Damon
This is me but with Will Smith’s red Shelby GT500 in I Am Legend…

and me but with Eleanor from Gone in 60 seconds (2000)

@Damon

Dad a retired Ford employee and Mustang owner throughout life.

@Damon
That need for speed movie is the reason the 2014 GT500 is my second fav Mustang and because of Gone in 60 seconds. The 1967 Shelby GT500 (Eleanor) is my fav car of all time.

@Damon
I just saw that movie down the first time and got an inkling. Great marketing on their end. I just bought a bronco raptor instead but will probs get a stick stang in a couple years.

My fascination began when I was a toddler. Not sure, really. I just liked cars and thought the Mustang was the coolest one.

If you had asked me when I was able to talk about what car I’d drive when I grew up, I’d have said a red Mustang. Once I was around I and understood a little bit about engines, I’d have answered, “a red Mustang with a V8.” And once I’d experienced the joys of a manual transmission, well, you can guess the rest. And I have a car with all of those boxes ticked off in my garage. I’m a happy boy.

My dad was supposed to buy me a pickup when I was away at college (he was covering 2k down payment and I was covering payments). He for some reason came back with a mustang cause he’s a car guy himself. Didn’t solve me commuting to school but it sure did get me into spending unnecessary money on mustangs :joy:

@Winter
He knew it would get you hooked!

Here in italy we have much smaller cars on average, after i got my licence and daily driving a city car I got my hands on my dad’s cherokee (6i 4l) and absolutelly fell in love with big american engines and a couple of years later with a bit of research I found my Mustang, greatest car i could possibly desire

Mine is an imported one, before the s550 there were no mustangs for the italian market, they are extremely rare here.

@Tavi
That’s pretty cool. I know Germany sold Mustangs at one point except they were called T5’s.

Yep, in Germany you can buy many american cars that are not imported here, dunno why
