I was hoping to settle it privately with cash. Guess that’s not an option anymore.
You’d need a lot of cash for that, probably more than you think. He’s likely expecting a big payout.

Yeah, even if you settled privately, there’s nothing stopping him from still going to his insurance later. You’re better off just letting the process play out.
@Colin
You’re probably right. I’m starting to think he brake-checked me on purpose. I told the cops it was my fault since I wasn’t paying attention. Is there anything I can do to change that now?

Nope. You already admitted fault. Just let insurance handle it. It’s a tough lesson, but it’s how we learn.
So he called an ambulance for a ‘broken neck,’ but he looked fine? Sounds like he’s just looking for a payday.

The ambulance left before I did, so I’m hoping that’s a sign he didn’t actually need any medical attention.
@Moe
Yeah, sounds like he’s just trying to milk it. Probably got one of those billboard lawyers who’ll try to get a quick settlement.
He’s probably going to sue since you’re young and driving a sports car. Write down everything you remember about the incident and send it to yourself in an email or note with a timestamp. It’ll help if things get serious.
@Aaron
I spoke to a law firm, but they said I have to wait for insurance to assign me an attorney.

Makes sense. But definitely take notes on what happened while it’s still fresh in your mind. It could help your case later.
@Arlo
I already ordered a new bumper online for $150 (yes, from Temu… let’s hope for the best). I found a guy who’ll paint it for $350.

Good luck with that $150 bumper, lol. Hope it fits without too many issues.
@Fifer
Temu hasn’t let me down yet. I’m gonna test fit it first, and if it doesn’t work, I’ll just send it back.
Oh snap, I’ve seen your car around here. I can even see my office in the background of that picture!

Haha, yeah, I guess my car is kinda hard to miss.

It must’ve been around 6 PM, right? I left before this happened. Definitely talk to your insurance if there was an ambulance involved.
@Bright
It happened at 5:45 PM. I’ve already called my insurance, but they said I have to wait for the other guy to file a claim.
Whatever you did to afford a Mustang, you’re gonna have to do it again to afford the insurance after this accident.
