I finally got my adapter and happily rolled up to a Tesla supercharger, only to discover they already had CCS chargers at the charging station. What a bummer!
Don’t beat yourself up about it. Only a few of those have the ‘magic dock’, so it’s still good that you have your own!

There are probably only around 50 in the US with that adapter. I wouldn’t rely on finding a Tesla station that works. I’d much prefer to have my own adapter.
In Central Florida, there are hardly any magic docks around.

I think there might be just one in all of Florida (on the West Coast?).

I was going to say that but it’s been a couple of months since I last checked. I was getting my hopes up.

It’s in St. Petersburg, I believe?
@Henrik
Yep, the only one is in St. Pete. Luckily, I live just 20 minutes away.

I’m in the Lakeland area, so it’s closer to an 80-minute drive for me.

Really? There are 6 in Alabama with the drop-out CCS connectors. It’s surprising Alabama has more than Florida!
I checked Plugshare, and yep, they all work. I can confirm for two of them and plan to check a third soon.

Maybe more people in Alabama have bought Teslas? That’s wild.
@Storm
Teslas don’t use CCS, so maybe people in Alabama aren’t buying them and want to encourage usage of the chargers.

That could be it. I thought maybe if more people had bought Teslas here, they might have installed more Magic Dock chargers. But you could be right; they could just want to attract non-Tesla users.
No need to feel dumb. They are pretty rare.
Exactly, totally agree.
Magic Docks are awesome! There are currently five Magic Docks in Massachusetts (one near my home and another close to a vacation spot), so we’ve used them multiple times and they work great! But they aren’t common everywhere; there’s only one Magic Dock in all of Florida. There aren’t any in Ohio, West Virginia, or Virginia either.
How can I find stations with CCS?

So we really don’t need adapters?

There are only a few of these stations. You’ll most likely need the adapter. Just so you know, not all setups will charge even if you have the adapter. The oldest Tesla Superchargers aren’t compatible.
Well, you did choose a Ford.
