Anyone ready for winter and their car?

Getting my car prepped for winter. It’s my daily, so no storing it away. Rustproofing is done, and I’ll be doing weekly washes. Fingers crossed it holds up.

For me, it’s not about the snow. It’s all that salt they throw on the roads that keeps my car parked.

It’s my daily, so I can’t avoid it. Worst case, I’ll pay for a repaint. Rustproofing is done, and I’ll wash it weekly. Let’s see how it goes.

@Alexander
Sounds solid. Have you seen those sprayers on wheels? You roll them under the car to rinse off the salt. They’re pretty handy.

@Alexander
Salt brine gets into every bolt and crevice. Give it five winters, and you’ll start seeing rust. Those shiny brakes won’t look so good either.

Don’t worry, he’s probably undercoating the wheels too!

@Clyde
Good call. Might as well undercoat the windows while he’s at it!

It’s a daily driver, so I’m not stressing. But hey, check back in five years. Also, maybe get yourself a nice car instead of judging others. :+1:

Thanks for the laugh! My garage-kept 350 is skipping this Michigan winter. That’s what my winter beater’s for.

Sounds like someone’s scared to drive their car in winter. Just admit it.

@Alexander
You’re not wrong. Why waste money on winter tires for a sports car when I’ve got a 4x4 daily?

Well, winter tires lower my insurance, and I get to cruise around in style. :sunglasses:

What’s the rustproofing process like? I’m in the Midwest and want to avoid salt damage. Thinking of coating the underbody. Any tips?

My dad’s been rustproofing his F-150 for years. It’s got over 300,000 km and no rust. Definitely worth it if you’re driving in snow.

@Alexander
Do you take it to a shop, or is it something you can do yourself?

Look up rustproofing shops in your area. They should have you covered.

@Alexander
What rustproofing did you go with? I had Woolwax applied to mine.

Ready!

Love seeing cars driven and not just stored away!

My 2015 has only 40,000 miles. It’s mint, but no one ever sees it.
