So I was chatting with this guy at work who claimed his built 5.0 is pushing nearly 1000 HP. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. Naturally, I had to ask if it was Turbo, Supercharged, or Centrifugal, and he chuckled saying it’s Naturally Aspirated and fully built. He showed me some videos and it definitely sounded powerful, but I still wanted proof. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see some dyno numbers, right? But of course, he couldn’t find them. I joked that even if he had the numbers, he might still be stretching the truth. It was hilarious to see him get so upset! Just thought I would share this funny moment with everyone.
Why do people feel the need to lie about their cars? It’s just strange. Even a stock car is cool to own.
I know right. I’m usually not confrontational at work, but these crazy HP claims really get to me. His car sounded amazing though.
Sounds like deep-rooted insecurity to me.
Haha, I have a coworker just like that. He insists his 3.7 can outrun a 5.0. Claims it’s factory twin-turbo.
Classic! Not the latch excuse again! That must’ve been priceless.
I called him out and left him in the dust with my SHO.
At that point, I’d be rubbing it in every chance I got! “Hey, wanna race?” or “We should go to the store, it’ll be quicker on the bus!”
Right?! That’s so awesome! I wish I could have a moment like that. Pure gold.
Was so satisfying. I’m considering getting a 5.0 and racing him again.
I might get one too. I’ve thought about an is500 or RCF, but manual is where it’s at for me.
Haha! Awesome.
I can’t stand that kind of excuse. Mine has a busted latch too, it’s embarrassing.
What does he drive? My G37 pulls on my coworker’s RT Charger.
He has a 2016 Mustang V6. Beat him easily. NA RWD vs TT V6 AWD.
People underestimate how strong 400 HP can be until they actually feel it.
Even with all those mods, a 5.0 won’t reach 1k HP without big changes.
The G37 and 5.7 Hemi matchup really depends on the driver.
A 5.0 could make 1000 HP N/A, but that’s extremely unlikely.
Could just be a Ghost Cam tune.
